Purpose of Refset

The purpose of this RefSet is to describe the consistency and appearance of exudate that is present in a wound.  The values will be used for recording and retrieving the consistency of exudate.

Purulent discharge from wound (finding)

Examples of what to exclude

Wound exudate quantity - moderate (finding); Blue green color (qualifier value)

Editorial Guidelines

This RefSet will be used in addition to the Wound exudate color reference set and the Wound exudate amount ordinal reference set to describe characteristics of wound exudate.
