Anatomic Location Modifier Refset

Purpose of Refset

This Refset is an all inclusive list of spatial and laterality modifier terms from the qualifier value branch of SNOMED to be used in conjunction with Anatomic location terms for the purpose of describing the location of conditions such as wounds.   

Examples of what to include

The foundation for this refset is the VSAC Anatomic Modifier refset (2.16.840.1.113883.3.2074.1.1.24) that includes standard terms needed for FDA and CDISC.  Additional values were added to support the current wound project.

Examples of what to exclude

This Refset should not include Anatomic locations, rather it should be used in conjunction with Anatomic location terms.

Editorial Guidelines

Based on developer and user feedback, this Refset may need to be split into two refsets.  One to represent spatial modifiers and another one to represent laterality modifiers.
