FHIR Capability Statement

Grahame Grieve

FHIR’s perspective

  • File:///C:/work/org.hl7.fhir/build/publish/testscript.html
    • the test scripts are run by servers like Touchstone (AEGIS)…Crucible (Mitre)…
  • Human certification – 2 levels
    • Proficiency Certificate (you know what the specification is and your way around it – very high level).  May be avail sept ’17
    • High level certification – to demonstrate you really know FHIR and can provide implementation advice.  Open book test – expected to consult the specification during the test.  In order to pass – ongoing, will allow letters after your name, will be certified with an external certifying body.  Hopefully avail in Jan ‘18
  • Why we don’t do conformance testing
    • Don’t do it because if politics, and because they don’t have agreement on what passes.
    • Really hard to do but not convinced due to the cost of doing it and the value of it.
    • Define an implementation guide using their tooling, use the validator they provide, provide test scripts consistent with the services.
    • Did not think they would get enough agreement in the specification to do conformance testing. Will need to decide in the next 6 months or so if they will provide it.  For what price – for what value, or if they ask IHE to do it.

Capability Statement

-        Can be used in an application – specify in an application the resources and profiles they are claiming conformance to.

15:15-15:45

Argonauts

Grahame Grieve

Argonaut

  • More complete
  • Why there is no formal testing program
    • The cost would be too much.
  • My feelings about that
    • Disappointed and feel they would benefit from testing.  Wish they were doing it will
    • Once they start using the Argonaut artifacts then testing will come up.

Mentioned: But out of time to fully address....

Australian National Program perspective

  • My role
  • The program
  • Validation tooling
  • Validation on all transactions
  • Certification program (committee)
  • How cost worked
  • Problems
